Defence minister likely to attend Uttarakhand’s Foundation Day event in Haldwani

Defence minister Rajnath Singh is likely to attend Uttarakhand’s State Foundation Day event in Haldwani this year. Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi said this on Friday while reviewing preparations at the MB Inter College ground in Haldwani, Nainital district where the silver jubilee celebration will be held on November 6. Joshi inspected the venue along with respective DM, SSP and other senior officials and directed them to complete all arrangements on time. He said that the event will highlight Uttarakhand’s 25-year journey since its formation, including the contribution of martyrs and the State’s progress in various sectors. The ceremony will also feature cultural performances and tableaux representing fields such as agriculture, tourism, industry, education, and women’s empowerment. Joshi said that the completion of 25 years of Uttarakhand’s formation marks a moment of pride for every resident and reflects the state’s steady growth in education, tourism, roads, health and defence services. The Defence minister is expected to attend the event and all preparations will be completed soon, he added.
