Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated with enthusiasm across the State on Friday. The event in Dehradun took place under strict security measures implemented by the authorities to ensure a peaceful observance.
Further, several routes in Dehradun were diverted on Friday to accommodate the Eid procession. Members of the Muslim community were also observed performing Namaz in various mosques throughout the city.
Local Amir Ali shared that he began his preparations three to four days earlier. He purchased new clothes for his family for Eid. To make the celebration special, he invited a few friends to join them for a meal, he informed.
“I made all the necessary preparations for Eid with great excitement. In addition, I applied henna to my hands and wore new clothes during the occasion. On this special day, I also invited my family and friends to my home,” said another resident, Saba Khan.
She had given gifts to children as a gesture of love on the occasion, Khan said.
Another resident, Asif said that he spent the occasion with his family and made an effort to ensure it was a memorable occasion.
He informed that the day before the celebration, he had completed all the preparations for Eid, including food, clothing, decorations and other related items.
