Elderly parents approach DM claiming sons harassing them, DM initiates legal action

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
Elderly parents approached Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal, claiming their two sons were harassing them, prompting the DM to initiate legal action to declare the sons as offenders.
The woman Geeta, who is a cancer patient and her husband Rajesh, reported during a public hearing on November 10 that their sons physically assaulted them, verbally abused them and tried to evict them from their home. They said that the sons often returned home intoxicated and ignored attempts to reason with them, forcing the parents to live in a rented house. Following the complaint, the DM directed that the case must be formally recorded in court and issued notices to the sons. Both sons have been asked to appear in the DM’s court on November 25 to present their side. Judicial proceedings have been started under provisions for declaring offenders to address the harassment faced by the elderly couple, as per the officials.
