Four trains passing through Haridwar to be suspended from December to February

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Haridwar

The Railways will suspend four major trains passing through Haridwar from December 2025 to February 2026. The decision aims to ensure passenger safety during the dense fog season in North India.

The senior divisional commercial manager of the Moradabad division Aditya Gupta stated that train numbers 12327/12328, Dehradun–Howrah–Dehradun Upasana Express, will not operate from December 2, 2025, to February 28, 2026. The train normally runs four days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and a total of 26 round trips will be cancelled during this period.

He said that dense fog reduces train speed and increases the risk of accidents. They added that passenger safety remains the top priority, which led to the decision to suspend the trains. Local passengers, traders and regular commuters expressed concerns over the suspension. They said that the Upasana Express was the most convenient option between Howrah and Dehradun and its suspension will force passengers to rely on alternative trains and face difficulties in obtaining tickets.

The suspension coincides with the festival and wedding season, which will increase travel challenges. Passengers have requested the railways to arrange alternative services during this period.
