Fake currency racket busted in Roorkee, 3 held

Roorkee Police and Criminal Intelligence Unit in a joint operation busted a fake currency racket. While three members of the gang were arrested, police seized counterfeit currency with the face value of Rs six lakh from them.  Revealing details, the SSP, Haridwar, Pramendra Singh Doval said that they had first detailed a young man from a road heading to Laxmi Vihar Colony from whom two bundles of fake notes in the denomination of Rs 500 were seized.  Acting on the information received through the youth’s interrogation, police raided a rented room in the vicinity and arrested two more suspects. Ten bundles of fake currency in the denomination of Rs 500 along with mobile phones, printer and chemicals were impounded from the room.     

Three suspects were identified as Baleshwar from Vikash Nagar, Dehradun; Manish Kumar from Laksar and Himanshu from Roorkee.
