The Bharatiya Janata Party said that hired crowds and slogans including those in favour of a Muslim university exposed the Congress’ protest rally here on Monday. Terming the protest a flop, BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the rally appeared to be focused on issues other than those announced earlier. “Muslim university slogans resounded in the rally.
The Congress is being consistently aggressive on the issue of action against demographic change and encroachments in Dhaulas and other parts of the State, which was clearly reflected in the rally. This was yet another unsuccessful attempt by the Congress to spread lies and confusion. The absence of the public in the protest shows that the State has moved ahead on the developmental path while the Congress is living in delusion. We are considering the coming year an opportunity to speed up development but this time is an opportunity for political hoaxes for Congress leaders. Banners of Muslim university and the demand to reinstate the Madarsa board clearly exposed the dual character of the Congress,” Bhatt said.
He further claimed that the BJP government had executed numerous development and public welfare works in the past four years. The BJP has fulfilled all the promises it had made to the public. Referring to allegations levelled by the Congress, the BJP State president said that the opposition party is troubled by the fact that the BJP government has resolved issues being faced since formation of the State. “The corruption which Congress governments nurtured was eradicated by us. It had handed over the recruitment process to the mafia, which was ended by us followed by recruitment of a record number of youths through a transparent and fair process. We put a check on the conspiracy to alter the demography of the State and facilitate reservation for women and statehood activists, which had been pending for a long time. This is why the Congress in Uttarakhand is without an issue and lacks ideas,” Bhatt said.
