Two men were arrested here on Sunday for vandalising a Forest department office. The incident took place on February 21 at the office of the Asharodi Forest range officer under Clement Town police station area.

Forest range officer Ravindra Kumar Bedwal filed a complaint stating that Vaibhav Gaur and Savej Shah entered the office, raised ruckus, damaged property and misbehaved with staff. They also allegedly assaulted employees, used abusive language and damaged vehicles parked on the office premises, causing disruption in government work. According to sources, earlier, the forest team went to the Chandrabani Choila area in Patelnagar after receiving reports that some people had constructed a wall there. When the team reached the spot, they asked the people to show relevant documents for the construction. However, the people failed to provide any documents, so they were asked to come to the forest office for further verification. This resulted in the disturbance later at the office.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections of the BNS. Taking the matter seriously, senior police officials directed immediate action. After investigation, Clement Town police arrested both the accused. Police said further legal action is being taken in the case.
