The State Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi said that orders have been issued for the execution of the important announcements made by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Saheed Samman Samaroh held in Lansdowne, Pauri district recently.
He informed that among the announcements, the Sainik Guest House in Kotdwar would be renovated and equipped with modern facilities so that soldiers and their families get better facilities. Also, common service centres will be set up in the Directorate of Sainik Welfare and District Sainik Welfare and Rehabilitation offices with the aim of providing free services to ex-servicemen. Apart from this, it has been decided to provide honorarium to all the ex-servicemen of World War II and their widows, eliminating the compulsion of getting grants from other sources. At the same time, financial assistance will also be provided for the renovation of the museum located at Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre, Lansdowne.
While expressing his gratitude to the CM, Joshi said that these decisions would provide significant relief to the state’s army personnel, ex-servicemen and their dependents. He directed the departmental officials to submit proposals in advance for development works under the CM’s announcements to the State government as soon as possible.
