Police recover 200 mobiles worth Rs 37 L from several states

In a major achievement, Nainital police have recovered 200 lost mobile phones and returned them to their owners during a special campaign conducted between January and March under the direction of the senior superintendent of police (SSP),  Manjunath T C.

Police sources said that upon receiving complaints on the Nainital Police Mobile App and the CEIR portal, a special team had been formed under the superintendent of police, Nainital, Jagdish Chandra; superintendent of police, Haldwani Manoj Katyal and the circle officer, Amit Kumar Saini. Led by the Cyber ​​Cell in-charge sub-inspector, Meenu Gautam traced the mobile phones based on IMEI numbers.

Police sources further said that these 200 mobile phones had been recovered from various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh aside from Uttarakhand. Their estimated value is Rs 37.48 lakh. The recovered phones include phones from several major companies, including iPhone, Samsung, Oppo and Vivo.
