The Women’s Athletics and Fun Activities are scheduled to be held on International Women’s Day, March 8, at Parade Ground in Dehradun. The event will commence at 7 AM, the officials said, adding that this event is being organised in collaboration with My Bharat Dehradun, a unit of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, along with the Sports Authority of India (SAI). Participants will compete in three age groups: up to 13 years, 13 to 18 years and above 18 years, they added.
The officials further said that races will include the 100 metres, 200 metres and 400 metres for each age group. Additionally, a tug-of-war competition will be held as part of the fun activities. Winners in all the competitions will be awarded medals, the officials said.
Further, the deputy director of My Bharat Dehradun, Monika Nandal stated that participants need to register through the My Bharat portal. Registration can be completed by visiting mybharat.gov.in. She said that they encourage all women and girls to participate in large numbers to celebrate International Women’s Day enthusiastically through sports, health and empowerment.
