Three new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Three new cases of dengue were reported in the Dehradun district on Thursday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma informed that among the three new cases identified on Monday, two patients were reported at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Combined Medical Institute (CMI) Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 248, which includes 123 cases from Dehradun and 125 cases from other districts and States.

Currently, there are 20 active dengue patients receiving treatment. Among these, eight are at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at Graphic Era Hospital, two at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh, one at Himalayan Hospital and five are being treated at home. On Thursday, health officials collected a total of 142 dengue samples, increasing the total number of tested samples to 13,225.

Additionally, on Thursday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the Health department conducted 9,645 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 181 homes. So far, the health department has completed a total of 12,50,981 household surveys, with 9,107 yielding positive results. ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 67,744 containers on Thursday and discovered that 244 of them contained larvae. Overall, they have examined 83,34,262 containers, with 12,296 testing positive for larvae.
