Senior physician and philanthropist Dr KP Joshi has said that the fifth edition of Uttarakhand Lok Virasat will be organised on November 29 and 30 at Social Baluni school in Dehradun. The event is organised to promote folk music, art and culture of Uttarakhand.
Joshi said that artists from Garhwal and Kumaon region will perform in the two day event. He said that noted singer Narendra Singh Negi, Pritam Barthwan, Meena Rana, Sangeeta Dhaundhiyal and others will give their performances in the programme. Artists will also showcase their talent on Dhol and Damau and other traditional instruments. The exhibition of traditional attire and ornaments will also be held in the event.
Dr Joshi averred that the event will help the new generation to acquaint with rich culture and traditions of Uttarakhand. The former director of Industries, Sudhir Nautiyal said that objective of the programme is also to find new talent and link them with employment.
