Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya assured Anganwadi workers that their demand for increased honorarium will be met soon after they raised the concern in a meeting.
Arya held a review meeting with district-level officials and party officials in Tehri on Tuesday to ensure successful conduct of the “Aangan Ka Milan” programme. The review meeting provided necessary guidelines for the programme, which will be held from September 25 to October 7.
For Anganwadi honorarium, Arya said that the proposal would be brought to the Cabinet. Arya instructed officials that creative activities should be conducted for children in all blocks and Anganwadi centres where programmes will be organised. In the programme, detailed information about schemes like Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Nanda Gaura Yojana among others will be given and beneficiaries will be benefited. She also said the programme should be completed in Anganwadi centres within the time period so that children, mothers and parents do not have to face any problem.
In the review meeting, instructions were given to complete all arrangements ahead of time to ensure the event’s success. Beneficiaries will also share their experiences. The WECD minister also directed that the entire programme be photographed and videographed. In addition, Anganwadi workers, assistants and ASHA workers who perform outstanding work will be honoured.
Meanwhile, in the meeting district programme officer Sanjay Gaurav informed that there are a total 2017 Anganwadi centres in the district, of which 2012 are active. Programmes will be held at all block levels in the district. Participating beneficiaries will be informed about Central and State-funded schemes, while pregnant and lactating women will be informed about departmental schemes and benefited from them.
243 medal winners to get out-of-turn appointments under sports policy
DEHRADUN: The State government has issued an order for out-of-turn appointments to 243 international and national medal winners of the State under Sports Policy-2021, Sports minister Rekha Arya said.
Arya said under the said policy, players from the State will be appointed to gazetted and non-gazetted positions in various departments. The athletes receiving appointments include 34 gold, 115 silver and 94 bronze medallists. These athletes will be accommodated in various departments, including Sports and Youth Welfare, Home, Transport, Forest and Education.
She stated that with the commitment of “If youth play, they will progress,” the State government is continuously taking important decisions in the interest of athletes. She added that out-of-turn appointments will provide talented athletes an opportunity to secure their future along with sports.
Arya also said the objective of the State government is to provide better sports facilities and employment opportunities to players so that they can bring glory to the country and State at the national and international level and also secure their future. She expressed gratitude to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the decision.
