U’khand appoints nodal officer to help people stuck in restive West Asia

For the safety of people from Uttarakhand living in Gulf countries and abroad, the Uttarakhand government on Saturday appointed the special secretary of the Home department, Nivedita Kukreti as the nodal officer. She will handle all coordination work and ensure that people from Uttarakhand receive help if they are stuck or facing any problems abroad.
The government has also released a helpline number, 9411112792, for people who need help. Apart from this, assistance can also be requested through email at dgc-police-ua@nic.in.
The government has appealed to people that in case of any emergency, they or their family members should contact immediately so that timely help can be provided.
With the Uttarakhand government having strengthened its coordination system to provide quick help, officials concerned are in regular contact with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian embassies in the Gulf countries.
