Maharaj inspects pilgrim registration centre in Haridwar

Uttarakhand Tourism minister Satpal Maharaj on Wednesday inspected the pilgrim registration centre set up at Rishikul Ground and reviewed arrangements for devotees arriving for the Char Dham Yatra. 

During the visit, the minister assessed facilities being provided to pilgrims and sought details of the ongoing registration process. He directed the officials to ensure that all basic amenities are available at the centre and warned against any negligence. He also instructed the staff to maintain polite behaviour with pilgrims and uphold the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava.

Maharaj stated that the state government is committed to ensuring that the Char Dham Yatra is conducted in a smooth, well-organised and safe manner, with all necessary arrangements in place.

Sharing figures, he said that 4.07 lakh pilgrims have already completed Darshan across the four shrines: 57,704 at Yamunotri, 57,863 at Gangotri, 2.07 lakh at Kedarnath and 84,942 at Badrinath. He added that a total of 24.68 lakh pilgrims have registered for the yatra so far through both online and offline modes.
