U’khand to give free coaching to 11,000 students to crack competitive exams

 The Higher Education department will provide free online training of different competitive examinations to 11,000 students every year. The State government will spend a sum of Rs 11 crore annually on the project under the Mukhyamantri Yuwa Bhavishya Nirman Yojana. 

 The department will provide free online coaching of civil services examinations to 2000 students. Similarly 5,000 students will be given training for SSC, Railways recruitment examination and others while 2,000 students will be given coaching for banking services examination. A total of 2,000  students will be trained for prestigious examinations such as Combined Aptitude Test (CAT), Management Aptitude Test (MAT), University Grants Commission, National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)  and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR- NET).

The officers of the department informed that the selection of students for the free training will be done on the basis of a screening examination taken in every district. The final year students and those who had completed the graduate and post graduate degrees last year will be eligible for the scheme. The selected candidates will be trained by renowned institutes and every student will be provided with a user ID and password. A four member committee headed by secretary Higher Education department has been constituted for monitoring of the scheme.

 The Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the scheme will not only help the students to register success in competitive examinations but will motivate them to become self-reliant.
