A high-level review meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami for smooth and safe conduct of Kanwad Yatra in which the district magistrates of various districts participated through video conferencing. The DM, Uttarkashi, Prashant Arya shared detailed information about the preparations related to the Yatra. He said that
they have made complete arrangements of drinking water, lighting, toilets, medical camps, traffic control and emergency services along the Yatra routes. He also mentioned the possible challenges that might come up during the Yatra and emphasised on adopting an integrated approach for their quick solution.
Regarding food safety, he said that the quality of the food items being sold along the route is being checked regularly and if any kind of adulteration or unhygienic condition is found, strict action would be taken immediately against the food joint owners.
Superintendent of police, Uttarkashi, Sarita Dobhal; SDM, Bhatwadi, Shalini Negi and SDM Dunda Devanand Sharma were among those present.
