Uttarakhand Mandi Board employees to donate one day’s salary for disaster relief

Uttarakhand Agriculture Production Board employees will donate one day’s salary to the disaster relief fund, Mandi Board chairman Anil Dabbu said.
The board will also distribute ration in affected areas with support from traders associated with the mandi. Dabbu said that the board will organise medical camps in all mandis on September 16 on the ocassion of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dham’s birthday and on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, a sanitation drive will be conducted across the mandis. All officials, employees, traders and farmers will participate in both initiatives.
He added that the disaster has caused damage to the agricultural sector. The Uttarakhand Mandi Board will hand over a cheque of Rs one crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on September 16. He appealed to all sections connected to the mandis to provide maximum support during the disaster. Dabbu also acknowledged Modi’s allocation of Rs 1,200 crore for disaster relief.
He said that contributing actively to help victims is the most appropriate way to honor the birthdays of both the CM and the PM. The board’s initiatives aim to provide immediate relief to affected families, support agricultural recovery and involve the local community in coordinated relief efforts. Traders and farmers across the State will assist in distributing essential items and participating in sanitation and health campaigns, he added.
