Vidhan Sabha speaker and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Khanduri described the Nari Shakti Vandan Act as a historic and transformative step in the country’s democratic journey. She stated that this act will not only ensure strong representation of women in the legislature but will also provide new direction and momentum to their participation in nation-building. This act embodies the principles of respect, equality and empowerment for women. It is expected to increase women’s participation in politics and make the decision-making process more inclusive. In a State like Uttarakhand, where women have played a crucial role in social and economic development, this law will be particularly effective, she added.Khanduri also expressed confidence that this act will help half the population of the country receive their rightful share in representation, enabling India to progress more firmly towards the goal of being a developed nation by 2047. She also congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway on Tuesday. The expressway would mark a significant milestone for the development of Uttarakhand, she added.
