President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the foot overbridge and equestrian area for visitors at the Rashtrapati Niketan here on Sunday. The Public Works Department built this feature at a cost of Rs nine crore in six months. After inaugurating the equestrian area, the President also fed the horses of the President’s Bodyguards. Spread across 0.7 acres, this facility was developed by the Central Public Works Department and will be used to hold eight selected horses of the President’s Bodyguards. Special arrangements have been made for corridors and guided tours for visitors in this area. This facility will be open from 9 Am to 5 PM on all days barring Monday.
Later in the evening, Murmu also attended a cultural programme organised by the Culture department. Governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh was also present on the occasion.
