After chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami accepted the demand of youths for a CBI inquiry into the alleged UKSSSC exam paper leak case, BJP claimed that the decision reflects the party’s consistent demand for a central agency probe. The party claimed that a BJP delegation had earlier met Dhami on Monday and submitted a memorandum seeking a CBI investigation into the matter.
The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt expressed gratitude to the CM and said that the inquiry is necessary to clear doubts in the minds of candidates. He added that the party stands with the government in ensuring transparency and fairness in the recruitment process.
Bhatt said that the announcement of a CBI inquiry will bring the truth to light and ensure punishment for those responsible. He also welcomed the end of protests by students after the CM’s assurance and reiterated that the party considered the concerns of youth as legitimate and in need of resolution.
The party’s State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan informed that the memorandum was submitted to Dhami by Rajya Sabha member Naresh Bansal and Rajpur Road MLA Khajan Das on behalf of the organisation. He said that the party stated via memorandum that while the State government had introduced strict anti-cheating measures in recent years and acted against exam mafias, reports of irregularities in the recent graduate-level examination had created mistrust among a section of candidates.
Chauhan claimed that while the Special Investigation Team and a committee under a retired judge were already investigating the case, a CBI inquiry will address the concerns of those demanding further scrutiny. He said that the move was intended to ensure that no doubts remain about the fairness of the examination system and that the interests of all candidates are safeguarded.
