The workers of Uttarakhand Mahila Congress staged a unique protest outside the residence of Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri on Monday on the issue of new disclosures made in the Ankita Bhandari murder case.
As part of their protest, the workers set up a moot Vidhan Sabha on the road leading to the residence of VS speaker. The vice president of Mahila Congress, Asha Manorma Sharma presided over the moot VS. The members of the VS asked pointed questions from the speaker in Ankita Bhandari murder case and the disclosure made by the wife of a former BJP MLA that the national general secretary of BIP Dushyant Gautam is the VIP involved in the case.
The president of Mahila Congress Jyoti Rautela raised questions on the silence of the women leader of BJP and women spokespersons of the party. She demanded termination of VS membership of BJP MLA Renu Bisht for conspiring to destroy evidence by using bulldozer.
Rautela said that the women leaders of BJP should demand resignation and arrest of Dushyant Gautam. She said that BJP leaders are involved in most of the cases of crime against women in the last three years in the State. It is unfortunate that due to involvement of BJP leaders, no action was initiated in such cases.
The Mahila Congress workers also staged a vociferous protest and tried to march towards the residence of VS speaker.
