3.89 lakh people have availed benefit of SGHS: Rawat

Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that more than 3.89 lakh people have so far availed the benefit of cashless treatment under the State Government Health Scheme ( SGHS) and a sum of Rs 771 crore has been spent on the scheme so far. Responding to a question by Congress MLA Manoj Tiwari on the fourth day of the Budget session of Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, Rawat said that SGHS commenced in the year 2021 for the State government employees and pensioners.

He informed the house that asum of Rs 248 crore is pending to be paid by the State government under SGHS.  Rawat said a sum of Rs 180 crore is pending of the empanelled hospitals while Rs 68 crore of the reimbursement of the employees is pending. He said that a sum of Rs 12 crore is collected per month from the contributions from employees while a sum of Rs 21 crore is spent on the cashless treatment in the empaneled hospitals.

The minister said that the State government has provided a loan of Rs 37 crore and Rs 75 crore on two occasions to the State Health Authority (SHA) to clear its pending dues. He added that the Health department has initiated talks with the employee organisations to increase the contribution of the employees under the SGHS.
