Cardiac OPDs starts CHC Raipur & Premnagar in Dehradun

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

In a major relief for rural patients, the Health department has started specialist cardiac OPDs at Community Health Centres in Raipur and Premnagar, providing cardiologist consultations and ECG tests locally for only Rs 150. This initiative, taken jointly by the district administration and the Health department under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, enables heart disease patients to receive specialist care and testing in their area. This development alleviates the need for patients living in remote and rural locations to frequently travel to Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Hospitals.

According to officials, over 35 patients have benefited from ECG testing at both centres so far. Cardiologists are available for examination and consultation every Wednesday at Premnagar CHC and every Friday at Raipur CHC from 10 AM to 1 PM. This facility offers significant relief to the residents of the Pachwadoon and Parwadoon regions, allowing them to avoid trips to major city hospitals for heart consultations and treatment.

The Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Manoj Sharma, stated that three successful outpatient clinics have been held at the Premnagar CHC, in collaboration with cardiologists from Velmed Hospital. He noted that positive feedback has been received, with over 100 patients receiving specialist consultations thus far.
