Modi promises all help to save Joshimath Situation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the Joshimath situation arising out of continued land subsidence in Joshimath city on Sunday and assured every possible help to the State government in relief and rehabilitation works. He held a telephonic conversation with the Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and inquired about the relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken by the State government in the subsidence-affected area of Joshimath city. He also sought information about the immediate and long-term plans prepared by the State government to tackle the problem and the progress achieved so far. Later, while talking with the media persons, CM Dhami said that the Prime Minister’s Office is in regular touch with the State government on the Joshimath situation. He said that on Sunday the PM called him on the phone and sought a detailed report on the measures taken by the State government. The PM sought information about the rehabilitation process, the number of affected families, the plan of government, the water that is being discharged from the ground, and measures taken by the State government. Dhami said that the PM has assured every possible help to save the city.
Meanwhile, the authorities have started distributing cooked food and dry rations to the affected families in the city while also appealing to those in unsafe homes to shift to temporary accommodations set by the authorities in secure locations.
