Paper leak: Agitated candidates hold protest at UKPSC

Agitated at the leak of the question paper of the Patwari Lekhpal recruitment examinations, the candidates held a vehement protest outside the office of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) on Monday.

In view of the protest of the candidates, a huge deployment of the police forces was made in the UKPSC premises.

The protestors demanded that all the examinations of the commission including the forest guard to be held on January 22, should be conducted only after the investigation is complete.  The candidates also submitted a memorandum regarding the matter to the UKPSC secretary.  Candidates pointed out that after the Patwari Paper leak case; mistrust has arisen in the people for the UKPSC.

 The Superintendent of Police (SP) City Swatantra Kumar said that the candidates protested peacefully and submitted a memorandum of their demands to the secretary of the commission. 

Meanwhile former Union minister and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that strict action is being taken against the culprits of the UKPSC paper leak case. “All those who are guilty of the scam will be in jail.  Everyone will get a lesson from the action taken by the government.  There would be a big lesson especially for the accused involved in the paper leak due to which no one will be able to even think of doing such scams in future,’’ he said.
