In latest Dehradun news, a B Com final year student of Sri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) University located in the industrial area of Patel Nagar in the city was hurt when a mob comprising some youths allegedly attacked him in connection with a comment uploaded on a social media post. It is learnt that though the matter happened two months back, the heat of animosity lingered. The student identified as Aman Bhandari was attacked in the evening when he was returning home on his motorbike after the classes were over. The mob, armed with sharp-edged weapons and batons, made the student fall from his vehicle and then thrashed him. The attackers fled the place before police arrived. The student is learnt to have suffered deep head injuries. He is under treatment now at Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital. On being informed of the attack, some students of the SGRR University and members of a Hindu organisation reached the spot and in a fit of rage, they vandalized a scooty of one of the attackers and created a ruckus at the hospital. With tension brewing in the area, police personnel from nearby police stations were deployed. Besides, a Provincial Armed Constabulary contingent was posted. Police said that they are on the lookout for those involved in the incident. The situation was tense till midnight
