Monsoon withdraws from parts of Uttarakhand
Yellow warning- thunderstorms with intense spells forecast in five districts

The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Uttarakhand. Stating this on Saturday, the state meteorological centre said that the line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon passes through Gulmarg, Dharamshala, Pantnagar, Etawah, Morena, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur and Barmer. The monsoon is expected to withdraw completely from the State during the first week of October. Meanwhile, the meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain / thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts today. Dry weather will prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy skies on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively today.
Meanwhile, light rain was reported in some parts of the State on Saturday with six millimetres in Kedarnath, four millimetres in Pandukeshwar and 2.5 millimetres in Chaukhutia. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State were 35 degrees Celsius and 22.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.6 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 22.4 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 26 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri on Saturday.
