PM’s visit to boost religious & spiritual tourism in Manaskhand: CM

Modi to launch development works worth Rs 4,200 crore

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Pithoragarh visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a boost to religious and spiritual tourism in the Manaskhand region of Uttarakhand. The CM visited Pithoragarh on Tuesday to check the preparations of the administration for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 12. He went to the Naini Saini airport to check the aircraft landing system, security and other arrangements. He also inspected the seating arrangements, sound system, security, drinking water, tent, podium and other arrangements at SS Waldia sports stadium in Pithoragarh where the PM will address a public gathering. 

Dhami directed the officers concerned to ensure error-free arrangements during the visit of PM. He said that the visit of the PM will provide a new impetus to the development of Uttarakhand. The CM added that the visit of the PM will provide a new recognition to the places of religious tourism in the State.

 He said that the effect of PM Modi’s special attention and love for Kedarkhand is clearly visible in increased flow of tourists and pilgrims. He said that works such as all-weather road project, reconstruction of Kedarnath and Badrinath master plan were undertaken successfully under the guidance of PM Modi and work on the Rishikesh- Karnprayag rail link is also going on. The pilgrim flow in Kedarnath has increased due to all these measures and better air connectivity.

On October 12, the PM will reach Jollikong in Pithoragarh in the morning where he will perform pooja at Parvati Kund. He will also seek blessings at Adi Kailash. Modi will then visit Gunji village where he will interact with the local people and visit an exhibition of local art and products. He will also interact with personnels of Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

At around 12 noon, he will reach Jageshwar in Almora district where he will perform pooja. After that, the PM will reach Pithoragarh in the afternoon where he will inaugurate, dedicate to nation and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth about Rs 4,200 crore in sectors like rural development, road, power, irrigation, drinking water, horticulture, education, health and disaster management, among others.
