In latest news from Uttarakhand, Vigilance has finally started initiating actions in the enemy property fraud scam involving Jwalapur in Haridwar district that came to the fore ten years ago. It is learnt from the Vigilance sources that cases have been filed against 28 people, including two PCS officers. The SP Vigilance Headquarters Dehradun Dhirendra Gunjiyal confirmed this. Notably, the enemy property, spread over 21 bighas, was taken over by the government. However, after the land was acquired by the government, about 10 registries were done on this land at the behest of some PCS officers and land mafias who allegedly worked in collusion. Notably, several houses are now situated on this land near the Idgah in Jwalapur though some parts still remain unoccupied. Now, the Vigilance is tightening its noose around the senior officers and land shirks allegedly involved in the land fraud. Vigilance sources further said that they are treading cautiously in view of the fact that the names of some highly placed officers might come up in the fraud case.
