In latest news from Dehradun, the noted film actor, producer and social activist from Uttarakhand Arushi Nishank has been presented with the Black Swan Sustainability Champion of the Year in recognition of her contribution in the realm of environment. Presented by the AisaOne Magazine and ET Now, the noted singer Sonu Nigam and actor Sekhar Suman had earlier received this award.
Commenting on the award, Arushi said that this was far more than an individual receiving an award. “This recognition signifies a better future awaiting humanity,” she said. She particularly mentioned the film Tarini, saying that it was an inspiring story of six women naval officers of India. Notably, she is the daughter of the veteran BJP leader and former Union minister and Uttarakhand chief minister Ramesh Pokhryal Nishank.
