Youths engaged in the Chalo Tapkeshwar campaign cleared about 100 sacks of garbage from the Tapkeshwar area. Organised by Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD), the event on Sunday witnessed the participation of about 70 young volunteers.

The cleaning initiative focused on the Tamsa river, situated within the precincts of Tapkeshwar temple.

Commencing at 6 AM, the volunteers started the cleanup effort equipped with gloves and other necessary gear. The collective endeavour resulted in the removal of damaged statues, plastic waste and varied trash including plastic bangles from the riverbed. The Municipal Corporation Dehradun provided essential support by facilitating the transportation of the collected waste.

Parivartan organisation also joined in the effort.

Committed to river revitalisation initiatives, MAD emphasised the need for sustained efforts at a larger scale. It was collectively resolved to intensify endeavours aimed at environmental conservation. The organisation has undertaken river cleaning activities along the Tamsa river for the past two Sundays. The group has also taken the initiative to communicate its suggestions and recommendations to both the cantonment board and the temple administration. This collaborative approach aims to streamline and enhance its collective efforts towards the rejuvenation of the Tamsa river, the group stated. Aryan Koli,
