The police arrested three men and one woman on charges of carrying out prostitution at a spa centre in Dehradun’s Vasant Vihar area. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that the police received confidential information about prostitution being carried out under the guise of a spa centre in Vasant Vihar area. Considering this, a joint team of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and the Vasant Vihar police conducted a surprise check at Relax Zone Spa and Salon located on GMS Road late on Monday. The team found two men and two women in objectionable condition in two different rooms of the spa centre. The police team also recovered objectionable material from the spot and found three more women working in a separate room of the spa centre, the SSP claimed. He said that the operator of the centre Usman told the police during interrogation that he along with his lady partner contacted the customers through phone and Whatsapp chat. They allegedly lure young women with more money to work in the spa centre and then force them into prostitution. Singh said that the police team rescued five women victims from the spot. They also arrested the operator of Usman, the centre’s manager Anu and the two men Shadab Khan and Immaraji Srinivasulu who were allegedly found in objectionable condition during the raid. The police registered a case against them under section 3, 4 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and handed over the victims to their families, the SSP said.
