Day of respite from heavy rain, thunderstorms and rain likely in 10 districts today

The State experienced a respite from heavy rains on Tuesday though landslides were reported in different parts of the State. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Champawat and Nainital districts on Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts. Further, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital and Champawat districts, at many places in Tehri, Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at a few places in the remaining districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were 33.8 degrees Celsius and 24.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.6 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.1 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.8 degrees Celsius and 18.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
