Doon University commences admission process for UG & PG courses

With the declaration of the merit list, Doon University has commenced the admission process for the under-graduate and post-graduate courses from Thursday. The admission process, based on the merit list, is scheduled to span two days and will be brought to a conclusion on July 12. Providing the information, the registrar at the university MS Mandrawal informed that the merit list has been recently released for students enrolled in the UG and PG courses.

This list was formulated based on an entrance examination held at four centres on June 15. In the initial merit list, a total of 687 student names have been included, comprising 227 students from across India, 248 from Uttarakhand, 88 from scheduled castes, 18 from scheduled tribes, 88 from other backward classes, and 18 from the Economically Weaker Section. Further, in the postgraduate category, a total of 74 student names have made it to the merit list, out of which 33 are from various parts of India, 33 from Uttarakhand, three from scheduled castes, one from scheduled tribes, and two each from other backward and economically weaker sections, he added.

He further informed that the university has initiated the admission process upon the release of the merit list starting from July 11 and continuing until the 12th. He further emphasised that if any student mentioned in the merit list fails to complete the admission process by visiting the university without a valid reason, their name will be automatically removed from the list. Additionally, the merit lists for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses have been entrusted to the respective heads of the departments for the enrollment of students. It was specified that students applying for undergraduate courses are required to bring specific documents during the admission process, including the transfer certificate, high school and intermediate mark sheets domicile and categorisation certificates during admission, while postgraduates need to present their graduation mark sheet, he said.

The registrar further emphasised that students must pay their course fees through the Samarth portal online, with payment instructions available on the university website. Mandrawal further informed that classes for the academic session 2024-2025 for both undergraduate and postgraduate students will start on July 13 at the university.
