NEET UG State Counseling to commence from August 21 in U’khand

The HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education university will commence the process of counseling to fill the State quota of seats in the Medical colleges of the State from August 21. The new session in the medical colleges is commencing from October 1. There are four government and four private medical colleges in Uttarakhand and they have a total of 1,125 MBBS seats. Apart from them there are 200 seats in the two dental colleges in the State.
The controller of examinations of the HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education university Vijay Juyal said that all preparations for the counseling of the eligible candidates from the merit of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) have been made. He said that 85 per cent seats in the four government medical colleges of the State are in the State quota and will be filled by the State counseling. Similarly 50 per cent seats in private medical colleges will be filled by State counselling. He said that the first round of the State counseling of selected candidates will commence from August 21 and end on August 29. The last date of joining in the medical colleges of the candidates selected in this round is September 5. The second round of counseling will be held from September 11 to 20 September and the last date of joining the allotted medical college of these candidates is September 26. The third round of counseling will be held from October 3 to 12 and the last date of joining colleges is October 18. The counseling for the stray vacancies in the medical colleges will be held October 21.
In Uttarakhand there are four government medical colleges, Government medical college Dehradun ( 150 seats), government medical college Srinagar ( 150 seats), government medical college Haldwani ( 125 seats) and Government medical college Almora ( 100 seats). Similarly the State has SGRR medical college, Himalayan institute of medical sciences, Gautam Buddha medical college and Graphic era medical college in private sector and all these colleges have 150 seats each.
