A four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three minors aged six years, 10 years and 11 years in the Sitarganj area of Udham Singh Nagar district. The assault reportedly happened on the premises of the government primary school in Sitarganj on Monday. The medical report has confirmed the sexual assault, the Rudrapur superintendent of police (City) Manoj Katyal said. He told The Pioneer that the victim’s mother told the police on Monday that her daughter goes to a primary school nearby where she is not enrolled yet. The child reached home on Monday crying and told her mother about the alleged sexual assault by three boys in the school. The mother also observed swelling and bleeding from the child’s private parts. Katyal said that considering this, the police registered a complaint in the matter and have started investigation in the case. The police along with the child welfare committee members have approached the juveniles. The six-year-old boy was sent back to his parents while the other two were sent to the observation home as per the law, the SP said. “We are investigating this sensitive matter. We are looking at what these children were browsing on mobile phones or what kind of mental condition they are in which could have probably pushed them into committing such a crime. We are investigating the matter from all angles,” Katyal said.
