Good samaritan honoured for helping ONGC Chowk mishap victim

Dehradun police felicitated a youth who had come forward to help one person who was injured in the road accident which killed six others in Dehradun on November 11. According to the police, Atul Panwar was passing by the site of the mishap when with the help of the police and another youth Deepak Pandey, he took the injured youth Siddhesh Agrawal in his vehicle to the hospital. Meeting Panwar on Saturday, senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh appreciated his deed and felicitated him under the Good Samaritan scheme. Panwar said that he currently working in Dubai and had come to his home in Dehradun on holiday. At the time of the accident in question, he was returning home after dropping a friend. Noticing the scene of the accident at ONGC Chowk, he approached the wreckage to provide assistance. Understanding the value of life, he did not wait for an ambulance but transported an injured youth to the hospital with the help of the police and another youth present at the site. This ensured timely treatment to the injured youth, who is the sole survivor of the mishap. Panwar has also appealed to the general public to come forward to help the injured persons at the time of an accident.
