The Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) Dehradun will collaborate with the police to promote public awareness about road safety and the ‘Drug-Free Uttarakhand’ campaign. This decision was taken during a meeting held on Wednesday between a PRSI delegation and the director general of police, Deepam Seth.
During the meeting, serious discussions focused on enhancing the effectiveness of the ‘Drug-Free Uttarakhand’ campaign, preventing road accidents, mitigating the threat of cyber crimes and ensuring public engagement in these initiatives.
Seth emphasised that a drug-free Uttarakhand is a top priority for the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Following his direction, the police administration has been actively taking strict action against anti-social elements and mafias involved in drug-related activities, highlighting the need for collective efforts to tackle this issue. He said that the police department has been conducting public awareness programmes aimed at protecting youth from the dangers of drugs which requires participation from all sections of the society.
Regarding the road safety issue, the top cop of the State stated that checking drives have significantly increased. He emphasised that road safety is a shared responsibility and the collaboration of organisations like PRSI would play a vital role in promoting it.
Additionally, the rising incidence of cyber crimes was also addressed during the meeting. The DGP stated that raising awareness about digital security and safe internet usage is crucial for preventing cybercrime. He urged PRSI members to take an active role in this arena as well.
In response, the president of PRSI Dehradun Ravi Bijnaria stated that PRSI would actively support the ‘Drug-Free Uttarakhand’ drive, road safety initiatives and public awareness regarding cyber crimes. “PRSI is fully committed to cooperating with the police department in every possible way to ensure that these awareness campaigns are effective, leveraging its public relations expertise,” he added.
