Congress demands Agarwal’s resignation

PNS | DEHRADUN
The Congress has demanded that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami should seek the immediate resignation from the cabinet minister Prem Chand Agarwal for abusing the people of mountainous areas of the State during the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha. On Saturday, the workers of the party led by the Mahanagar Congress chief Jaswinder Singh Gogi assembled at Astley Hall near Congress Bhawan in Dehradun where they burned the effigy of the minister.
Gogi said that Agarwal became so distraught during discussion in the house in Vidhan Sabha on Friday that he used expletives against the people of mountainous parts of the State which shows the deep hatred he harbours towards the people of the mountains. He said that such a behaviour of the minister is highly deplorable. Gogi said that the BJP always plays divisive politics for political benefits.
He claimed that minister Agarwal has stooped down to such a low level in order to divert the attention of the people of the State from the issues of legitimisation of live-in relationships under the uniform civil code, smart meters and unemployment. The Congress leader said that CM Dhami should ask Agarwal to resign from his cabinet failing which the Congress workers will hit the streets in protest.
