Shri Venkateshwara University hosted a one-day national lecture on the topic ‘From Struggle to Success’ featuring the former Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, a former IAS officer and the author of the motivational book ‘The Winning Formula’, K J Alphons on Thursday. In his address, he exhorted the students not to be cowed down by hostile circumstances, averring that one could win the whole world even in adverse circumstances on the basis of ‘Five S’: Self- Attitude, Self-Identity, Self- Confidence, Self- Uniqueness and Self-Commitment.
Introducing Alphons to the students, the chairman of the Venkateshwara group of institutions Sudhir Giri said that he would be remembered for his courageous action of razing down thousands of illegal constructions in Delhi, ignoring huge political pressure piled on him while holding the post of the commissioner of Delhi Development Authority. The university’s pro-chancellor Rajeev Tyagi said that his university was proud to felicitate such an inspiring personality.
