Maharaj requests Union Minister for research on ancient sites of civilisation

The Tourism and Culture minister, Satpal Maharaj has written to the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, requesting him to take initiatives for the translation of the script of the Indus Valley Civilisation as well as for in-depth research through the Archaeological department on the history of the ancient paintings of the Stone Age Lakhudiyar caves in Almora and other ancient caves spread across Jaunsar region. He also stressed on research to unravel the mystery of the origin of Saraswati river.
Maharaj further said that the new generation of the country should be enlightened on the rich culture and history of the land to enable them to derive pride and confidence from such learning.
