Heavy rain and its effects have continued to affect routine life in various parts of the State even though there was no major rainfall activity in most parts of the State on Thursday. There appears to be no respite in near future with the State Meteorological Centre issuing an orange alert (be prepared to take action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms/lightning and very intense to extremely intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Bageshwar and Champawat districts on Friday.
The centre has also issued a yellow warning (be aware) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts and Udham Singh Nagar district. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the mountainous districts and Udham Singh Nagar and at many places in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
