As directed by the Nainital SSP, Prahlad Narayan Meena, police conducted a checking drive in several Common Service Centres (CSC) operating in Banbhoolpura area. A total of 19 centers were inspected and eight of them were immediately closed after irregularities were found.
Police cited non-maintenance of registers and absence of rate lists, CCTV cameras and educational qualification certificate of the operators as reasons behind the closure. Legal actions were underway, they added.
