The district-level netball competition for the under-18 boys and open women’s categories being jointly organised by Uttarakhand Sports Directorate, Uttarkashi district administration and district sports office is now being held at the Sports Stadium in Manera.
The competition featured 140 players from 14 teams in Under-18 boys’ category and 90 players from nine teams in the Open women’s category.
Following the events on the first day, the players and staff launched a cleanliness drive in the stadium. The district sports officer, Babita Bisht said, “Sports are not just about trophies and medals; they are also a powerful medium for social reform and awareness.”
A number of senior coaches, Prantiya Rakshak Dal volunteers and Health department staff members were present at the inaugural programme.
