UKSSSC paper leak: Congress stages protests across State

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

The Congress staged protests at all district headquarters and demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper leak case.

The Congress leaders presented memoranda addressed to the governor, to the district magistrates in which they sought a CBI probe monitored by a sitting judge of the High Court.

In Dehradun, the Congress workers and leaders led by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara held a protest at the Gandhi Park.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahara said that the government claims that it has implemented a stringent anti-copying act but despite this the UKSSSC paper was leaked. “The paper leak is due to either a weak government or a weak law. It looks as if the people associated with the ruling party are involved in the paper leak due to which the copying mafia has no fear of police or the law,’’ he said.

The PCC president said that the pain of the youngsters of the State has become unbearable and they believe that the only way out now is to get rid of this corrupt government.

He warned that if the government does not accept the demand of CBI inquiry in the paper leak then the Congress will hold a massive protest march towards the residence of chief minister.

The vice president (organisation) Suryakant Dhasmana accused the ruling BJP of trying to communalise the sensitive issue of paper leak. He said that the use of the word Nakal Jihad by BJP shows that it intends to break the students’ agitation by using the communal card.

Former cabinet ministers Hira Singh Bisht and Navprabhat, Mahanagar president Jaswinder Singh Gogi and other leaders also addressed the party workers.
