Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has claimed that about one and a half dozen leaders, many of whom are in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, are waiting to join the Congress party.
Godiyal told The Pioneer that about a dozen leaders will soon join the Congress party. The PCC president said that he had submitted a list of 18 leaders to the party high command and after due deliberation, six of them including three former MLAs joined the party in New Delhi on March 28.
He claimed that many senior and influential leaders of BJP including MLAs are in contact with him and are interested to join Congress party. The PCC president said that the Congress party has decided to induct new leaders into phases into the party and one such phase will be once a month.
On the question of entry of Sanjay Negi, he said that his name figures in the list and the party will induct him after holding due deliberations. Godiyal claimed that all the new leaders being inducted into the party’s fold will join the party unconditionally.
