The Rashtrawadi Regional Party (RRP) on Thursday alleged large-scale irregularities in the recruitment of homoeopathy medical officers in Uttarakhand and accused the State Homeopathy department and Homeopathy Medicine Board of corruption in appointments and financial matters.Addressing the media on Thursday, the RRP national president Shiv Prasad Semwal and State president Sulochana Ishtwal claimed that serious lapses took place in the recruitment process for 24 posts of homoeopathic medical officers.
Semwal alleged violation of reservation norms during the recruitment. He said that a Scheduled Caste woman candidate from Himachal Pradesh was recruited under Uttarakhand’s quota. Semwal claimed that no posts were initially advertised under the OBC category, but appointments were later made from the OBC quota after declaration of results.
He added that a 60-marks interview component was kept to influence the final selection and that no videography of interviews was conducted. Semwal further claimed that the selection committee did not include experts from higher educational institutions as required and instead included a medical officer posted in the Assembly.
Alleging nepotism, he said that several selected candidates were related to legislators and senior officials in the department.
Semwal also claimed that Shailendra Pandey had been holding the post of Homeopathy Medicine Board registrar for the past 12 years despite the absence of a proper service rule and alleged that he drew non-practising allowance (NPA) without performing clinical duties, terming it a violation of financial rules.
