Cabinet minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary has said that the women should be connected with employment with the help of self-help groups and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). He was addressing a meeting of district level officers in Uttarkashi on Friday. The minister reviewed the progress of schemes run by various departments including rural development, small and micro industries, Khadi and Village Industries, MNREGA, livelihood promotion, rural infrastructure development, Peyjal , Health, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry in the meeting.
Chaudhary tersely told the officers that the implementation of all schemes should be ensured within the time limit, with transparency, quality and accountability.
The minister stated that the government’s goal is to provide direct benefits of government schemes to villages, the poor, farmers, women and youth.
In the meeting, the minister directed the officers to promote women as a strong workforce, enabling them to become financially independent and actively contribute to the progress of their families and society.
