Southwest monsoon advances to all parts of Uttarakhand

After its arrival in the State on Tuesday, the southwest monsoon advanced to all parts of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Heavy to modern spells of rain were received in different parts of the State on Wednesday.
The State Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital and Bageshwar districts on Thursday. A yellow alert has been issued regarding heavy rainfall at isolated places in Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts on Thursday.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, very intense to extremely intense spell of rain and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Thursday.
On Wednesday Maldevta, Mohakampur and Hathibarkala in Dehradun recorded 84.4, 65.0 and 63.5 millimetres of rain respectively.
Mussoorie recorded 43 millimetres, Rudraprayag 32.5, Haldwani 29.5, Kalsi 29.0 and Pauri received 28.5 millimetres of rain on Wednesday.
